The short version
Paws on Par helps you find dog-friendly golf courses. You can browse the whole directory without an account. If you sign in to contribute, we collect your first name, your email, and what you contribute. We don't sell your data, we show no ads, and we run no third-party analytics or tracking. Your device location never leaves your phone.

This policy explains what Paws on Par ("we," "us") collects, why, and who we share it with.

1. Browsing is anonymous

You can open the app, view the map, search courses, and read policies without signing in or giving us any personal information. Accounts exist only so contributors are real, distinct golfers.

2. What we collect

If you sign in: Contributing requires a free sign-in with Google or Apple. We store your first name (shown publicly next to your contributions) and your email address. Your email is never shown publicly.

What you contribute: Policy confirmations and change reports, tips and suggested edits, listing reports and votes, any notes you add, and your saved courses (private, visible only to you) — all tied to your account.

When you search: The text you type is sent to a maps provider to return matching courses. We don't send your device location with it. We briefly use your IP address to rate-limit searches and prevent abuse; it isn't used to profile you.

Your device location: If you grant permission, your location is used only on your device to center the map near you. It's never sent to us, stored, or shared.

3. How we use it

To show you dog policies and their trust level; to count distinct golfers confirming a policy; to display your contributions with your first name; to send you occasional emails about the service and product (you can opt out anytime); and to keep the app secure and spam-free.

4. Public vs. private

Please don't put anything you consider private in the notes and tips you post.

5. What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We show no ads. We run no third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry.

6. Service providers

We rely on a few trusted providers to run the app (for hosting, sign-in, data storage, maps search, and abuse prevention). Each receives only what it needs to do its job and processes it under its own privacy policy. These providers may keep standard infrastructure logs, which can include IP addresses.

7. Cookies and local storage

We use no advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores a few things on your device to work: your sign-in session, a flag that you've seen the intro, and a short list of courses you recently viewed (kept only on your device). Signing in with Google or Apple may set their own cookies as part of that process.

8. Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your profile and contributions while your account is active. Because the directory depends on shared confirmations, some contributions may remain visible after you delete your account to keep policies accurate for other golfers. To access, correct, or delete your personal data, email admin@pawsonpar.com and we'll handle it promptly.

9. Children

Paws on Par isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

10. Changes

If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date above.
